Hybrids galore

Every two years, the Middle East gets a taste of the best and the brightest in the automotive world, courtesy the Dubai International Motor Show. We are just two days away from The Dubai International Motor Show 2017, so here’s an early gist of what you can expect. We shall be unraveling many more concept cars, all-electric devices and Limited Edition vehicles in the coming days…

Jaguar I-TYPE 2

jcrop-previewThis second generation of Jaguar’s all-electric, single seater Formula E racing car will make its first regional appearance at the Dubai International Motor Show. The I-TYPE 2 accelerates from 0-100km/h in a stunning 2.9 seconds and can regenerate up to 150kW of energy under braking to extend its range.

That GMC Yukon Denali UAE Special Edition


At the last edition of the Dubai International Motor Show backin 2015, GMC unveiled a GMC Sierra HD Special Edition to celebrate 44 years of the UAE. We know they have something lined up, so watch this space!

Jaguar XE SV Project 8


Now this is an exciting one. Coming courtesy Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), the Project 8 is the most powerful Jaguar road car ever. Deep down lies a 600PS 5.0L Supercharged V8 engine, with a top speed of 322 kph and a boast-worthy 0-100 kph in 3.7 sec.

Volkswagen BUDD-e

jcrop-previewThis concept electric van made the right sort of headlines when it was first unveiled to the world at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show. Coming to the region for the first time, the BUDD-e will feature touch, voice, and gesture control, as well as digital displays called E-Mirrors instead of the usual side mirrors.

2018 Ford Expedition

jcrop-preview20 years since it was first launched, this is positioned as the smartest, most capable and most adaptable Expedition ever. This Full-Size SUV has a 3.5-litre EcoBoost twin-turbo engine and class-exclusive 10-speed automatic transmission delivering up to 400 horsepower and 610Nm torque along with the best towing capability of any full-size SUV.

Chevrolet Tahoe RST


The Chevrolet Tahoe RST, the most powerful production Tahoe to date, makes its regional debut at show. Sharing the same 6.2L V8 in the Camaro SS and Corvette Stingray, it’s coupled with General Motor’s latest 10-speed transmission which made its debut on the Camaro ZL1 earlier this year.

Audi A8

jcrop-previewThe highlight car on Audi’s Stand at the Motor Show, the Audi A8 is the first production automobile in the world to have been developed for conditionally automated driving. 

Mercedes-AMG Project ONE

jcrop-previewThe Mercedes-AMG Project ONE brings F1 hybrid technology to the road.  The two-seat super sports car boasts over 1,000 hp and top speeds beyond 350 km/h.
