Apple to recall more than 88,000 iPhone 6S in the UAE
February 6, 2017

Part of the ongoing battery replacement program.

A statement from the Consumer Rights Department confirmed that Apple is issuing a recall of more than 88,000 iPhone 6S units in the UAE as per the recent announcement by the Cupertino company.

It was revealed that a ‘small percentage of units’ of the iPhone 6S that were sold between September and October 2015 (the months when the iPhone 6S was initially rolling out globally) are affected by a battery hardware issue that could see the device shutting down unexpectedly. And don’t worry, the battery issues don’t mean it will end up like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 – in fact, the issue might point to your iPhone losing its power permanently.

The good thing is that Apple is issuing a free battery replacement if your unit is affected, and here in the UAE you can easily take it to one of the two Apple stores located in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates and Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall.

To check if your iPhone 6S is included in the affected units, you can visit website to see your eligibility. You can then arrange a schedule for you have your smartphone repaired/replaced.
