Are these the specifications for the Google Pixel 2?
September 28, 2017

The new smartphone will be announced on October 4th.

More leaks about Google’s Pixel 2 continue to leak online and this time we may have an idea as to what hardware specifications it will have. Initial reports may have confirmed that the Pixel 2 will have front-facing speakers and a portrait mode.

The larger Pixel 2 XL is said to have an OLED panel along with the same 1440-by-2560 pixel resolution. Inside, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 CPU along with your choice of 64 GB of 128 GB of storage. Just like all new smartphone flagships, the Pixel 2 XL will also follow a nearly borderless design.

Leaks also said that the Pixel 2 XL will use the USB-C port both for charging and audio – meaning that the 3.5 mm will be gone. An interesting feature called an e-SIM card will be embedded on all Pixel devices that would let you roam with any local carrier on any country without the need to change the SIM card.

HTC is rumored to be the maker of the larger Pixel 2 XL, hence the ‘squeeze’ feature popularized by the HTC U11 will also be present on this smartphone.

It will of course, run Android 8.0 Oreo.

More details should be revealed next week as Google officially announces the Pixel 2.
