Emirates Transport has just launched the final testing phase of its school bus that’s completely electrically powered. The first in the region, the 45-seater bus was in cooperation with the Shanghai Sunwin Bus Cooperation.
“The launch of a Zero Emission school bus comes as part of our efforts to achieve the vision of the government for a green economy and puts the UAE in the forefront of such initiatives, regionally and globally,” said in a statement by Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, the General Manager of Emirates Transport.
The school bus, while being completely electric, will still follow the strict standards governed for school transportation. This included various testing phases and even a field visit to the factory in China where the bus was made.
Efforts like these will see the UAE become one of the countries to become less dependent on fossil fuels. A great move to reduce carbon footprint.
