Google Assistant will soon come to Android TVs
January 5, 2017

Soon you’ll be talking to your TV.

While still not perfect, Google Assistant is one of the new ways that you can interact with your Google device. Initially available for the Pixel and Home, it was revealed that Google Assistant will soon be available on Android TVs.

This means that if your smart TV is currently running on Android, you will soon get an update that would enable the feature on your TV as long as it is running Android 6.0 or higher. Some of the devices getting the update will include the Xiaomi Mi Box and the Nvidia Shield TV.

From selecting your favorite movies or TV series to even controlling various appliances in your home, Google Assistant will be able to do almost everything that you request it to.

Also announced at CES 2017 is Nvidia’s new Shield TV powered by Android. The new streaming device will support 4K HDR and will include a controller that you can use to play games.

Google Assistant is scheduled to arrive this year while Nvidia’s Shield TV will be available to purchase by the end of this month.
