Google fixes screen issue with November patch
November 7, 2017

Available now for Nexus and Pixel devices.

Google’s monthly security patch for its Nexus and Pixel devices have started to roll out through an OTA update. But aside from the usual bug fixes, the update includes a fix for the recent screen issues that have been plaguing the Pixel 2 display.

If you remember, Google’s Pixel 2 smartphone uses an OLED screen similar to what Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone X are using. But with Google’s intention of showcasing a ‘more natural and accurate rendition of color’, many users complained that the colors seemed washed out and dull.

Google promised that it wasn’t a hardware issue, and the November security patch now includes a way for you fix the colors on your Pixel 2 device.

When you go to Display settings on your Pixel 2 smartphone, you will find a new menu option under the Colors menu that let you choose between Boosted, Natural or Saturated.

These new options should hopefully fix the reported screen issues. But the Google Pixel 2 is proving to be a strong competitor to Apple and Samsung, thanks to glowing reviews and support by the Android user fanbase.
