The Executive Council of Dubai and Huawei sign MoU to incorporate Dubai Font on future smartphones.
A new partnership has been announced between The Executive Council of Dubai and Huawei Consumer Business Group that will see the Dubai Font become a pre-loaded font on future Huawei smartphones. The signing was attended by Mr. Ahmad bin Amer Al Mahri, Assistant Secretary General of the Executive Council and General Secretariat Affairs, as well as Mr. Gene Jiao, President of Huawei Consumer Business Group Middle East & Africa at The Executive Council’s offices in Emirates Towers in Dubai.
This means that future Huawei devices on all tiers will have the option to use the Dubai Font on its user interface. Commenting on the signing, His Excellency Abdullah Al Shaibani, Secretary General of the Executive Council of Dubai, said: “Dubai Font is a new tool for self-expression and communication in the region and around the world, and we are confident that this agreement will leave its mark on the world.”
Huawei devices sold in the Middle East and Africa this year will get the Dubai Font option first while the rest of the world will get it early next year.
