Short queues, with most people waiting for the eventual iPhone X release.
At 8 AM UAE time, Apple Dubai Mall opened its doors to the first wave of iPhone 8 buyers in the country. The first in line was Ibrahim Alchamsi, who has pre-ordered the iPhone 8 ahead of the launch – but he isn’t buying just one unit. In fact, he bought 12 units of the iPhone 8 for him and his family.

But the crowds aren’t as wild compared to last year’s iPhone 7 launch, where we saw various lines from different Apple stores around the world starting from weeks before. This is largely due to the fact that an even better iPhone, the iPhone X, is scheduled to arrive on November 4th with pre-orders starting on October 27th.

The iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus largely resemble the previous design of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but the new iPhones now feature a glass back to enable wireless charging along with improved camera optics.
The iPhone 8 will also feature the A11 Bionic CPU that’s already being dubbed as one of the fastest processors on a smartphone, even beating that ones from Huawei, Samsung and Qualcomm.
The 4.7-inch iPhone 8 will come in 64 GB and 256 GB, will retail for 2,849 AED and 3,479 AED respectively.
The larger 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus will also come in 64 GB and 256 GB capacities and will retail for 3,249 AED and 3,879 AED respectively.
