The new possibility machine.
The mouse may be the least exciting peripheral on your PC – but recent products have somehow started to change that. Take for example Logitech’s new MX Master 2S – it may look like you typical wireless, but what lies inside instantly makes it one of your favorite devices.
Coming in at a light gray, dark blue/teal, or dark gray/graphite body, the MX Master 2S is especially sculpted for right-handed users. There are a total of seven buttons on the MX Master 2S that include left click, right click, center, back, forward, gesture, and scroll mode shift along with two scroll wheels. Each of the buttons are easily customizable using the Logitech Options software that you can download from their website.
There are also three LED light on the MX Master 2S that indicate battery levels. Speaking of the battery, you can easily get more than two month’s usage on a single charge – an improvement over its predecessor. You can charge the mouse using the micro USB port, in which a three minute charge can already give you a full days’ worth of battery life.
You can use the MX Master 2S as a wired mouse, but of course wireless is still the preferred method. It uses the Logitech Unifying USB dongle, meaning the similar Logitech devices like wireless keyboards can connect to the same dongle.
An interesting feature on the MX Master 2S is a button that lets you switch to three different devices. For testing I placed the dongle on my office Windows laptop and then connected the MX Master 2S to a MacBook Pro and a Surface Pro tablet. Switching between devices is seamless without any delays. This makes it easy for you to be more productive especially if you use more than one computer.
Another cool feature of the MX Master 2S is the support for Logitech Flow – this will let you use the mouse on three different devices no matter the platform as long as they are all on the same network. Flow will also let you copy and paste text and even files from one machine to another with ease. Text copies instantly, though it takes more time to copy if the files are larger, naturally.
In just a few hours I found myself using the MX Master 2S with ease – no matter what surface I place it on. It’s a perfect multitasking mouse that’s perfect for any user, especially with the Logitech Flow feature.
Overall the Logitech MX Master 2S ranks up there as one of our favorite wireless mice in the general purpose category that earns our top recommendation.
