AptX HD comes to the everyday
Meters Music Founder Mark Gooday is someone I love meeting up with. His sheer passion for the brand, and the place Ashdown Engineering under his guidance has secured in pop culture is truly to be admired. The brands’ foray into the end-consumer space with Meters Music saw the OV-1 headphones come to market. Sound quality apart, it was the moment VU meters, so symbolic of Ashdown’s pro amps, took the public stage.
At CES 2018, I had the pleasure of chatting with Mark at their stand. 2018 marks the second year Meters Music is at CES, and Mark ran us through their upcoming retail lineup. Key of this would be the OV-1 B, the wireless cut of the much lauded Meters Music OV-1 Headphones. The device carries on the design cues of the OV-1, VU meter in place, and is one of those few devices to boast both wireless AptX HD Bluetooth technology, and high-quality Active Noise-Cancelling (ANC). The 9 hours of battery life add to the allure.
Another key highlight was the MPAS Portfolio, MPAS standing for Meters Precision Audio Systems. Models showcased in the MPAS line included the MPAS Sub as also the battery-operated MPAS Portable.
Meters Music products are available at major stores in the region, right from Dubai Duty Free outlets to Gallerie Laffayette in Dubai Mall. Expect the OV-1B and the MPAS lineup in the UAE towards the second quarter of the year.
