LG’s rollable OLED TV is all kinds of awesome
January 8, 2019

The TV made its debut at CES 2019.

LG has done the impossible – the company today has just officially announced the LG Signature OLED TV R, which is basically an OLED screen that appears and disappears as it hides away inside its compartment. Taking a cue from the wallpaper TV released last year, the LG Signature OLED TV R offers deep blacks and improved contrasts for the best possible viewing experience.

The LG Signature OLED TV R will also offer three viewing options: Full view lets you use the entirety of the TV along with added functionality like voice control through Amazon Alexa. There’s also Line View where the screen is partially rolled out, and it will let you access basic functions on the TV such as the Clock and Music along with weather information. Lastly, there’s Zero View where the screen will be fully rolled and hidden but you can still continue listening to music since the LG Signature OLED TV R also includes a 4.2-channel Dolby Atmos speakers. How awesome is that?

The LG Signature OLED TV R will also benefit from Apple’s recent announcement of enabling AirPlay 2 and iTunes support on the TV. This easily lets you mirror iOS devices on the screen, which was only available on the Apple TV before the announcement.

LG said that the Signature OLED TV R could available as early as this spring, though the price wasn’t revealed.
