The company is currently exhibiting at CES 2019.
Sony is one of the man companies exhibiting at CES this year. A press conference opened the exhibition where Sony Corporation President & CEO Kenichiro Yoshida highlighted that Sony is primarily a ‘Creative Entertainment Company’.
“We at Sony partner with content creators who make the music, the movies, the television shows and the games that engage billions of eyes and ears and minds around the world. We’d like to showcase how Sony’s professional grade technologies support creators across the entertainment industries to produce compelling content. You will also see how our consumer products connect creators and users by enabling people to enjoy content at the highest possible quality,” he said in a statement.
Sony is also showcasing its Bravia Master Series lineup that highlight the world’s first 8K LCD TV. It features the next-generation X1 Ultimate processor and X-Reality PRO to upscale any content to 8K.
There’s also a new line of 4K OLED Bravia Master TVs that slashes the thickness to almost half compared to the previous model. It also features a Netflix Calibrated Mode so you get to stream content that’s perfectly calibrated for the screen. Along with that, these TVs also support IMAX Enhanced, a new certification that would allow it to deliver the best image quality that’s normally only seen in an IMAX theater.
Sony also highlighted its 360 Reality Audio technology which creates a musical experience through sound fields for a more immersive form of listening. This technology is already present on some of Sony’s line of audio devices.
The company has also highlighted the α9 and α7 series full-frame mirrorless cameras along with a full line of custom-designed mirrorless lenses at CES.
One of Sony’s biggest sectors is the gaming division. The PlayStation 4 has just celebrated selling more than 90 million units since its release, and CES is where you an experience some of the console’s best titles.
