Top things to check out at CES 2019
January 6, 2019

CES 2019 takes place this week in Las Vegas.

One of the biggest tech shows in the world, CES 2019, will commence this week in Las Vegas. The annual exhibition is a way for companies to show the latest and greatest of what technology has to offer, and this year is no different. Expect a plethora of gadgets and other incredible to debut at this year’s CES – and here’s a couple of them that we can’t wait to check out!

5G – 5G is the next big thing in smartphones. This next generation network speed would theoretically allow you to obtain faster download speeds compared to 4G LTE. Some carriers, including the ones from the UAE, have already started testing the technologies. Though it could be a couple of years before it actually gets implemented, we’ll get the chance to see how it works at CES 2019. Also note that new wireless technology like this would, of course, mean a new smartphone, so expect to buy a new device when you want to have 5G.

8K TVs – 4K TVs have only started getting popular, but this year at CES we might get a chance to see some 8K TVs set to debut this year. With a resolution of 7,680 by 4,320 pixels, that’s four times more pixels than a 4K TV and nearly 16 times more than a standard full HD display. That insane amount of pixels would result in an even clearer picture. While 8K content is largely scarce and even non-existent, companies are still pushing for the new era of displays to be showcased at CES. Even if it doesn’t take off right away, CES is the perfect time to check out 8K TVs.

Gaming notebooks – It safe to say that gaming notebooks are here today. With recent advancements in design, gone are the bulky and heavy builds that came with gaming notebooks. In fact, ultra-portable gaming notebooks are now the new fad, meaning you can pack in more power without compromising on size and weight. Expect new offerings from companies like Asus and Razer to show off their gaming line at CES 2019.

Smart speakers – A plethora of smart speakers were introduced last year, and there’s a good chance that we can expect even more to arrive this year. The various speakers powered by different virtual assistants from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and even Apple now offer different features and integrations, though we’re excited to see how smart speakers will evolve as part of the entire smart home concept.

Wearables and gadgets – Also expect wearables to make a mark during CES 2018. While we can expect new smartwatches running on the latest software from Google or even their proprietary operating system, we’re hoping to see a wearable with a battery life that would last.

Everything else – It’s CES, so aside from the major stuff I’ve mentioned above, expect announcements on hardware peripherals, storage, and even VR and AR.

CES 2019 commences this week on January 8-11, 2019 in Las Vegas. Stay tuned at for news and updates.
