Bethesda is suing Warner Bros for its ‘Westworld’ game

Because it looks exactly like Fallout Shelter.

Bethesda Softworks has filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros Entertainment for its recently released app based on the hit HBO show Westworld because it was a ‘blatant rip-off’ of its highly popular Fallout Shelter game.

The lawsuit went into detail how Westworld works in similar ways as Fallout Shelter – this includes similar game design, animations, features, gameplay elements and more. Bethesda even said that the games are so similar that even the same bugs are present.

Fallout Shelter was released in 2015, which extends the gameplay for the Fallout universe by having your own nuclear bunker where you harvest different resources and customize your own shelters. Westworld, which was released last week, on the other hand, mimics the TV show’s premise of you maintaining a theme park with similar gameplay methods.

In the lawsuit, Bethesda is asking compensation for damages against the profits earned by Warner Bros through the app.
