Dirt 4 Review (PlayStation 4)

June 18, 2017

Rally games make a comeback.

Entirely focused on rallying, Dirt 4 beings back the joys of racing in every form possible. Whether you’re a novice or even a professional, there is something to love about the game – the only requirement is that you have fun playing it. Gameplay ranges from timed staged events to off-road terrains that come with a spontaneous weather system.

Dirt 4 will bring you to five locations Austalia (Fitzroy), Spain (Tarragona), United States (Michigan), Sweden (Värmland) and Wales (Powys). A new feature called ‘Your Stage’ is introduced in this installment which automatically creates rally stages for you depending on how you set your own parameters in the game.

Then there’s also rallycross racing that includes five circuits: Lydden Hill Race Circuit in Great Britain, Höljesbanan in Sweden, Lånkebanen in Norway, the Circuit de Lohéac in France and the Pista Automóvel de Montalegre in Portugal.

There is a plethora of things to do in the game including career mode or even multiplayer. Like most rallys, the game forces you to get down and dirty just like the real thing. But even with various complex settings, the game is still offers hours of fun.

The visuals are great – though not as the same level offered by similar games like Forza. Still, the stunning visuals (we played the game on a PS4 Pro using a 4K TV) easily make it a visual delight.

Dirt 4 is a great ride from start to finish – and no matter what your driving skills are, you will find something to love about this game. Highly recommended.
