Game On: Sony (finally) enables Rocket League cross-play on the PS4!
January 15, 2019

You can now compete with Xbox One and Switch users.

Rocket League developer Psyonix has just announced that full-platform cross-play is now supported on the PlayStation 4. This means that you can now battle it out with players from any platform including PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

“Today’s announcement is an important one for us here at Psyonix, because we know how much our community has wanted FULL cross-platform support for quite some time. It’s because of YOU, our fans, and our generous partners on all systems and services that have made this possible in the first place,” the company said in an announcement.

To make sure that Cross-Platform play is enabled (it is by default), head to the “Main Menu,” select “Options” and then make sure the “Cross-Platform Play” box is checked in the “Gameplay” tab.

This follows Sony’s announcement on cross-platform support for Fortnite a few months ago. Initially, you can only play Fortnite and Rocket League with the same PS4 users. Hopefully this opens up more cross-platform support on a variety of games in the future.
