Launching next year.
Riot Games has just confirmed that League of Legends: Wild Rift has been confirmed to arrive for iOS and Android devices in 2020 in celebration of its 10th anniversary. The Wild Rift is essential much like the main version of League of Legends (LoL) that includes a multiplayer online battle arena enhanced for mobile gaming.
As far as controls go, Riot Games mentioned that the game will use a twin-stick control setup and will have newer maps and shorter matches that are suited for smartphones or tablets. They did emphasize though that Wild Rift isn’t part of the League of Legends game on PC.
Unlike Fortnite and PUBG which made its way to mobile devices that support cross-play on different platforms, Wild Rift will be a separate experience that the developers have made from scratch to ensure ‘a polished, legitimate LoL experience’.
Once dubbed as the most popular PC games in the world, it was reported that the game’s revenue has declined with each year that passes, which is why the makes are looking to cash-in the increasing popularity of mobile gaming.
