To be released this fall.

It looks like the next setting for Assassin’s Creed will take place in the Viking Age – if the Easter Eggs found on The Division 2 turned out to be true. This relates to a poster seen on the game which was then discussed in detail on a Reddit thread along with other theories as to why it could actually be genuine.

The poster points to a Viking-like character wearing a cloak similar to the one the characters wear at Assassin’s Creed games. The word ‘Valhalla’ is written on top, which further confirms the setting for the next adventure.

You can argue that this may just be a fun Easter Egg placed by Ubisoft, but given that a new Assassin’s Creed game is due later this year, it’s just the right time for teasers like this to come out.

Last year, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey opened to record numbers and positive praise thanks to its gameplay and ancient setting, which was made even better with the real-than-life graphics.

More details should be revealed in the next couple of weeks, especially with E3 coming up this summer.
