With more people staying inside during the ongoing health crisis, Sony is launching a new Play At Home initiative to give you more reasons to stay inside. The initiative will come in two components: free games for everyone to download and a fund to help indie game studios experiencing financial difficulties so they can continue making great games.

The free games included for the Play At Home initiative includes Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey. These games can be downloaded for free for a limited time from April 15th to May 5th. Once you redeem the games, they will permanently be part of your library.

Journey gained awards thanks to its engaging storyline and beautiful animation. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection doesn’t need any introduction and is probably one of the most celebrated titles on PlayStation. The collection includes the first three adventures of Nathan Drake: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception which has been remastered for the PlayStation 4. In China and Germany, Knack 2 will be available along with Journey).

These are digital downloads, and Sony emphasized that throttling of downloads is still in effect due to the recent announcement that connections will be preserved to reduce the load on connections so expect the downloads to be slower than the usual.

Additionally, Sony has allocated $10 million to help support indie developers as financial help. More details about this cause will be provided soon.

If you own a PS4, make sure to add the games to your library once it becomes available.
