The PS4’s DualShock 4 gets a nifty new accessory
December 18, 2019

A new way to elevate your gameplay.

Sony has just announced a new accessory for the DualShock 4 controller. Named the DualShock 4 Back Button Attachment, the attachment offers two back buttons that can be mapped for up to 16 actions. It also offers haptic feedback along with an integrated OLED display.

You can also remap the buttons on the fly, and even utilize profiles in times when you need different configurations for each game. Since the Back Button Attachment covers the 3.5 mm port, there’s a passthrough that still lets you connect any wired headset to the controller.

Sony also said that the Back Button Attachment has been certified for use on any available PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR game, and will be released on January 23rd for $29.99.

While Sony also teased how the new DualShock controller will look like on the PlayStation 5, it looks like we’re getting an early preview on how the future of Sony’s controllers will be.

Stay tuned for a full review soon.
