Square Enix announces delays for two big games of 2020.
Just yesterday, Square Enix has announced that it will be delaying two of its most awaited games this year, Marvel’s Avengers and Final Fantasy VII Remake. We expected that the developers wanted to polish the games before it goes out and that in turn would require more time.
Final Fantasy VII Remake now be released on April 10th from its March 3rd release date. Despite being a ‘remake’, fans of the original game were assured that you will experience a brand new game despite the familiar characters and story, which somehow justifies the full pricing. The game was originally announced in 2015, so you could imagine fans waiting for nearly five years.
Marvel’s Avengers is also one of the most anticipated games of the year. Despite an initial lukewarm reaction, the hype has been building up thanks to released gameplay footage that showed the open-world scenario that you can explore. Still, Square Enix promises a game that’s like no other, despite the inevitable comparison to the hit movies. Marvel’s Avengers was supposed to be released on May 15th, but you may have to wait a little bit more in the fall since the release has been moved to September 4th.
This also places the games close to the release of the next-generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft, though it isn’t clear if it will be released on that platform. At the moment, both Marvel’s Avengers and Final Fantasy VII Remake has been confirmed for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
