Here’s your first look at the new ‘Tomb Raider’ movie reboot
February 8, 2017

Maybe it’s the first video game movie that will actually be good?

The upcoming reboot of the Tomb Raider movies have commenced shooting in South Africa and will star Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander as the titular Lara Croft.

The star of The Danish Girl and Ex Machina takes over the role from Angelina Jolie, who previously starred in two Tomb Raider movies in the early 2000s.

The movie reboot also looks like it will draw inspiration from the recent game reboot, which focused on a more gritty and action-oriented take on the video game character.

The movie will be directed by Roar Uthaug and will co-star Dominic West, Daniel Wu and Walton Goggins as the movie’s villain.

The movie opens in March 2018.
