New line of notebooks and desktops designed for gamers.

HP today is releasing a new line of gaming devices aimed for the avid gamer – this includes desktops and notebooks under the new ‘Omen’ brand. These computers come in various configurations and price types. Also announced is a new Omen X platform for the more serious gaming crowd.

The highlight of the Omen gaming PC line is three new notebooks built for an immersive gaming experience. It comes in 15.6 and 17.3-inch screen that support either a full HD or 4K screen resolution. Additionally, sound output is made even better with the Bang & Olufsen speakers.

Other features of the Omen gaming notebooks include a ‘Dragon Red’ backlit keyboard that matches the red and black color scheme of the laptop, along with an Nvidia-based GPU and a 6th generation Intel Core processor.

The Omen desktops on the other hand support even more powerful specs: a 6th generation Intel processor, up to 32 GB of RAM and your choice of Nvidia’s new GeForce GTX 1080 GPU or AMD’s R9 390X GPU. Combine that with a top of the line solid state drive, and the Omen also is one of the few certified computers that can support the demanding requirements of VR headsets like the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.

“We created OMEN by HP for gamers who need their PC to deliver a great experience while also allowing them the flexibility to choose the level of performance and design that fits their needs,” said Kevin Frost, vice president and general manager, consumer personal systems, HP Inc. “The new OMEN platform offers the features gamers rely on – power for battling on the go, graphics for smooth gameplay and advanced thermal cooling to tackle the latest AAA games. The OMEN by HP delivers gamers what they need to strike first, and last.”
