Netflix is making a live-action TV series of the hit Nintendo video game.

The Legend of Zelda is considered to be one of the best video games of all time. Credit that to Nintendo, who also gave us Super Mario Bros. – in case you were living under a rock.

Popular video streaming service Netflix announced that it is currently developing a TV series based on the hit video game about a boy named Link who is tasked to go on a quest to rescue Princess Zelda. It was rumored that the TV Show will go on a more serious ‘Game of Thrones’ kind of vibe, but on a more family oriented sense.

Netflix was said to be working closely with Nintendo, who is usually stingy in terms of giving away intellectual rights to some of its most famous characters. While Nintendo hasn’t confirmed the rumor, more news of the adaptation should be available in the coming weeks. While that’s all food news, note that Netflix is a streaming service that is only limited to certain countries, and unfortunately the Middle East isn’t one of the lucky ones. There are ways around to get that working, but it would still be great if the service arrives here.
