Binge-watching on Netflix is about to get more… productive

Picture-in-picture mode is coming.

Netflix fans are about to become more productive thanks to a new feature coming soon to the platform. According to a report by Engadget, Netflix is testing a new pop-out player that places a playing video inside a smaller window when you watch on a browser.

It’s basically a picture-in-picture mode for Netflix.

You can technically do this on the native Netflix app on Windows 10, which you can also resize to your liking, but it the browser window is evidently more flexible since you can resize it any way that you want. This, in turn, can help you do more things on your desktop.

Netflix is still testing the feature and hasn’t released a statement if it’s going to be a permanent part of the platform. Still, there are a lot of ways picture-in-picture can be beneficial for desktop users so here’s hoping they roll it out soon.

The only downside is that subtitles are disabled in this mode – though it makes sense since you won’t be able to read really small text in a smaller window right?

At least now I binge-watch Friends and (hopefully) finish my daily tasks.
