Blu-ray Essentials: Star Wars The Skywalker Saga

A must-have collection for every fan.

A few months ago we reported that Disney is planning to release a complete boxset of all 9 Star Wars movies in the Skywalker Saga. Just in time to celebrate Star Wars Day, we finally got our hands on this awesome special edition that features hours of content along with the 4K version of all the movies.

The set features a silhouette of the Death Star on the cover that opens up in the middle to reveal a book-type design that houses all the discs. Each page contains artwork from each movie, along with behind-the-scenes shots from the original trilogy, prequel trilogy, and the sequel trilogy.

The Skywalker Saga includes the 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray versions of The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker along with its own disc of special features. The set has a total of 27 discs.

There’s also a special message from Luke Skywalker himself talking about his experience and how the movie has changed his life (and the fans of course) since the first movie’s release in 1977.

We already viewed some of the discs, and while some may complain that the real theatrical editions are still the best versions, this is the best way you can experience the entire Star Wars saga in the comfort of your own home. It is also worth noting that these new editions include Dolby Atmos audio which will definitely give your speakers a workout.

If you’re interested in getting the box set, only Best Buy sells it as an exclusive in the US (which means you have to scout through eBay for a copy) or get it through Amazon UK.

Happy Star Wars Day and May The Force Be With You, Always!
