Movie Trailer Roundup: SDCC Special
July 22, 2019

Here are all the new trailers that debuted during San Diego Comic-Con.

As the days wind down in San Diego where SDCC has just commenced, we’ve been treated to various pop culture awesomeness in the past few days. This included announcements of new comics along with TV shows and movies.

The event also paved way for studios to debut sneak peeks at some of their upcoming movies – and here are our top picks:

It: Chapter Two – The Loser’s Club is back 27 years after supposedly defeating Pennywise. The first movie is a personal favorite (and a box office hit) and it’s interesting to see how the adults interact this time around. The movie releases September 5th, 2019.

Top Gun: Maverick – Tom Cruise is back as Maverick, reprising his role from one of his earliest (and most famous) movies. The trailer brings back more cockpit action, which I’m sure fans of the original will enjoy. The movie opens in July next year.

The King’s Man – This prequel will show the early days of Kingsman and now stars Ralph Fiennes as the Duke of Oxford. The movie will again be directed by Matthew Vaughn and will release next February.

Terminator: Dark Fate – Not technically a trailer, but we do get a glimpse of some of the action and some r-rated awesomeness. Hopefully, the movie delivers. The movie opens in November.

Cats – The movie adaptation of the popular stage show brings in Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, and Jennifer Hudson in starring roles. People who saw the trailer has mixed reactions, so we’ll leave you to decide if you enjoy it or not.

Watchmen – Despite the lukewarm reception to Zack Snyder’s version, it was still considered by fans to be a great adaptation of the graphic novel. Now HBO is showing their own version of the Alan Moore favorite in the form of TV series which acts as a continuation of the original Watchmen storyline. Watchmen debuts this October.

The Witcher – Henry Cavill stars as Geralt in this adaptation of the popular game and book series.

His Dark Materials – HBO has also debuted this new adaptation of His Dark Materials, which hopefully will be a better version of The Golden Compass.

Star Trek: Picard – Debuting on Prime Video next year, the show brings back Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard.
