Here’s the next batch of superhero/comic book movies that you should see.
While some moviegoers might have some fatigue seeing more superhero/comic book movies releasing this year, that isn’t stopping movie studios from churning out more adaptations. Some may turn out great, some may not but that increased interest in comic book movies means these won’t go anytime soon.
Here are the new comic book trailers that you may have missed last week:
Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) looks like an all-out girl power action extravaganza. The crazy explosions and action might appeal to fans of the characters, so here’s hoping they do a better job than Suicide Squad.
The New Mutants had an interesting production history. It was supposed to be released two years ago and was delayed multiple times. Billed as the first horror film set in the X-Men universe, we hope it delivers before Disney eventually reboots the whole X-Men series as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Black Widow finally gives us a backstory on the Avenger’s first female member. We already know how her story ends from last year’s Avengers: Endgame, but hopefully, this prequel set after the events of Captain America: Civil War will hopefully show a backstory on one of the MCU’s most beloved characters.
Morbius joins Venom as part of Sony’s expanding Marvel universe. Despite the trailer showing various connections to Spider-Man, it was made clear that the movie isn’t part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s confusing I know, but Sony wants money, and it looks like Jared Leto might give the living vampire a better portrayal than what he did for Joker in Suicide Squad.
