The next Marvel Studios movie opens this weekend.
Marvel Studios’ next big movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home, opens this week and while its a sequel that continues Patere Parker solo outing, we will also get to see how the world has changed after the climactic events of Avengers: Endgame.
Have a browse at some of these awesome facts before seeing the movie:
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the 23rd film and the last movie in Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Endgame was originally thought to be the last, but Kevin Feige said that this movie will tie up loose ends from Endgame which acts as a conclusion to the current phase.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays Mysterio, making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. More than a decade ago, he was supposed to replace Tobey Maguire during the production of Spider-Man 2 due to an accident.
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be specially formatted for the IMAX screen, the first Spider-Man film to do so. Expect a bigger aspect ratio when you watch at an IMAX cinema.
Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, plays a significant role in the movie marking his third appearance in a Marvel Studios movie this year. He played a younger version of Fury in Captain Marvel last March, and a cameo appearance during Avengers: Endgame last April.
The movie will also highlight how the world has moved from the end of Avengers: Endgame, including the 5-year gap where some people returned after they were dusted.
Director Jon Watts said that Far From Home deals with Peter accepting his responsibilities as a superhero. This is in contrast to the first movie (Homecoming), where he wants to act like an adult and become a superhero. After what he has experienced in Infinity War and Endgame, he’s now avoiding it and wants to enjoy being a kid.
In the last four years, Spider-Man has appeared on the big screen either solo or as part of an ensemble. It started with Captain America: Civil War in 2016, Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse in 2018 and last month’s Avengers: Endgame.
In the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, a close-up of Peter Parker’s passport shows his birthday as August 10th. This could be in reference to Spider-Man’s first appearance on Amazing Fantasy # 15, which was released on August 10th, 1962.
In the movie, Peter is seen using an old suitcase when packing his clothes. The suitcase has the initials ‘BFP’, which refers to Benjamin Franklin Parker, his uncle who we know was his motivation to become Spider-Man.
Spider-Man: Far From Home opens in UAE cinemas on July 4th.
