Pokémon Go celebrates first birthday with a rare Pikachu
July 9, 2017

Are you still playing?

Pokémon Go was one of last year’s breakout hits in terms of mobile gaming and few even realize that the game is now celebrating its first anniversary. To celebrate its first birthday, the game will let you catch a rare Pikachu that wears the signature red and white hat worn by trainers.

The game uses augmented reality and GPS location tracking to let you catch Pokémon in real time. This includes training your Pokémon so it compete with other players just like previous games and the animated series.

The game has quickly became one of the most popular games on mobile devices, with millions of players scattered all over the world. This has also prompted authorities in giving new rules against playing in public, with some countries even banning the game for fear of public safety. The number of players may be dwindled down since its release, but those numbers are still above average.

If you haven’t jumped onboard, you can check out Pokémon Go that’s available for free on iOS and Android devices.
