Resident Evil 7 is coming to the Switch, but there’s a catch
May 21, 2018

You will be able to ‘stream’ the game.

Capcom has just announced Resident Evil 7 for the Nintendo Switch – but don’t celebrate just yet, since it won’t exactly be a complete port of the original game that came out a couple of years ago on the PC, Xbox One, and the PS4.

This game, called ‘Biohazard 7 Resident Evil Cloud Version’ will be a streamable copy of the game that you can play on your Switch. It works the same way as PlayStation Now, where you can stream and play the game.

We’re guessing the hardware requirements for Resident Evil 7 won’t make it possible to port it completely on the Switch, which isn’t exactly a high-end machine. Still, Capcom is hoping to bring that experience to Switch users so they can at least play the game without having to go to a different platform.

Biohazard 7 Resident Evil Cloud Version is only a Japan-only release for now, but there’s a good chance it might roll out to international customers as well.

Streaming the game will cost 2,000 Yen (66 AED) and you have 180 days to play it. The cloud version of Resident Evil 7 will even include all the previously released DLCs.

Streaming services typically rely on a stable and fast internet connection so better check how reliable your connection is first before trying out the game.

How do you feel about Resident Evil 7 being streamed on the Switch? Is it the port that you expected? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
