Square Enix teams up with Marvel Entertainment for multi-game deal

Will we get the Avengers game we all deserve?

A couple of days ago, Marvel has announced that it is partnering with game developer Square Enix in a multi-game licensing agreement that will see them publishing original based on Marvel’s most famous superheroes. The first of these games is titled ‘The Avengers Project’.

Crystal Dynamics, who made the award-winning Tomb Raider reboot along with its equally awesome sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider, will take helm on the project in collaboration with Eidos-Montréal, who also made the Deus Ex games.

No word on what game will cover, but seeing as that it will be an Avengers game, expect the entire plethora of Marvel characters to make into the game in what they confirmed to be as an original story.

I, for one is excited about the collaboration – especially since we haven’t really seen a proper Marvel Studios game released in the years since the Cinematic Universe was introduced. There’s a good chance the game will be out by next year in line with Avengers: Infinity War’s release date.
