Tomb Raider movie reboot coming 2018
July 10, 2016

The new movie stars Alicia Vikander.

It looks like Tomb Raider is heading back to the big screen. Alicia Vikander, who was last seen in the excellent Ex Machina and The Danish Girl plus the upcoming Jason Bourne, will be playing the lead role.

Scheduled for release on March 16, 2018, MGM and Warner Bros. will be co-producing the film with Graham King serving as the movie’s producer.

Tomb Raider was originally made into a movie back in 2001 headlined by Angelina Jolie playing Lara Croft.

No details are available as of yet, but it looks like the new movie will touch upon the recent reboot of the Tomb Raider games, focusing on gritty action and adventure as opposed to a more stylized movie like the 2001 adaptation.
