Who wouldn’t want to watch the movie after seeing these trailers?
Trailers would usually tease you on what to expect when you watch it in the theater. In fact, some trailers can be so awesome it looks even better than the actual movie.
A good movie trailer works by showing enough footage for you to get excited without showing too much or revealing the plot (we’re looking at you, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), and combine that with awesome music and quick cuts and you got yourself an excited audience eager to see the movie.
For sure there are more than just 10 of the best movie trailers out there, and there’s only so much that we can include in this list. But here are some of our favorites:
Guardians of the Galaxy – Marvel took a gamble with this film since not everyone knew the comic series. But the trailer showcased how fun the movie was, and that song was stuck in my head for weeks after seeing it.
Gravity – We all know it would be a space movie, but I never expected the trailer to be this intense (and the movie was even better).
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King – The trailer sums up the movie in one word: EPIC.
The Dark Knight – The trailer awesomely introduced its new villain. Heath Ledger’s Joker was the most sadistic villain to ever grace the screen, and it perfectly set the mood for this film, which you can see on this trailer.
Spider-Man – As the first Spider-Man movie back in 2002, many weren’t convinced how the web slinger would show on the big screen, but after seeing this trailer, we weren’t disappointed.
The Conjuring – A horror movie should be scary – and this trailer alone gave me the chills, setting up the tone for how the movie will be.
The Matrix Reloaded – This much-anticipated sequel to one of the best sci-fi movies ever shows everything we loved about the first movie – without showing the plot. Fast cuts and slow motion is just what we needed to keep us excited until the movie opened in theaters.
Captain America: Civil War – I was supposed to include the original Avengers, but this recent Marvel hit is undoubtedly one of my favorites. It shows the plot and how our heroes face off each other and just when you think it’s done; they sneak in Spider-Man’s cameo. My jaw was still open after watching this.
Mad Max: Fury Road – Even if you were not familiar with the original Mad Max movies, the trailer gave us glimpses on how crazy the movie is (and it’s awesome).
Suicide Squad – Granted the movie is not as awesome as this trailer, anything with Bohemian Rhapsody still makes it a trailer I’d love to see over and over again.
