The Merc with a Mouth is back.
Everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed superhero is back. Deadpool 2 opens this week and brings its top-of-the-line R-rated comedy and violence that the character is known for. With the sequel opening in UAE cinemas this week, here’s a couple of fun facts that you should read before seeing the movie.
When original director Tim Miller left the project over creative differences, John Wick co-director David Leitch took over directing duties. Seeing as that John Wick had the same stylized violence, it looks like Deadpool 2 is in good hands.
As you may have already known, the character of Cable is played by Josh Brolin, who just wiped out half of the entire universe when he played big baddie Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War that opened a couple of weeks ago.
Speaking of Cable, Russell Crowe was the actor of choice to play Cable by Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld.
Deadpool 2 and upcoming movies in the X-Men universe The New Mutants and X-Men: Dark Phoenix were all filmed at the same time.
Just like the previous movie, expect a plethora of cameos that we won’t spoil here
As revealed in the most recent trailer, Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Bill Skarsgård (It) all have supporting roles in the movie as part of the X-Force team.
Brad Pitt was at one time in negotiations to play Cable.
Deadpool 2 was greenlit by the studio three days before the first film opened in February 2016.
There was an ongoing fan petition requesting Quentin Tarantino to direct the sequel.
The National Media Council here in the UAE officially confirmed that Deadpool 2 will be shown without cuts and an R-rating. This is in contrast to the first movie where a significant amount of footage was cut.
Deadpool 2 opens in UAE cinemas on May 17th.
