Life finds a way.
The Jurassic Park series has already cemented itself as one of the top-earning franchises in movie history, not mention one of the most famous movies of all time. While some of the sequels didn’t wow us as much as the first movie did, 2015’s Jurassic World breathed new life to franchise that also gained new fans. With its sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opening in theaters this week, let’s take a look at some of the awesome moments from the franchise:
“There’s a dinosaur in our backyard” (The Lost World: Jurassic Park)
The T-Rex rampaging through San Diego in this sequel didn’t really wow fans, but we did enjoy this bit where a kid tries to convince his parents that there’s really a dinosaur in their backyard.
The Indominus Rex escapes (Jurassic World)
Jurassic World’s newest dinosaur is genetically-altered, and it’s just a matter of time before it causes havoc on the theme park. This scene builds up the tension and showcases how dangerous it is to play with Mother Nature.
“The mommy’s very angry” (The Lost World: Jurassic Park)
In one of the sequel’s memorable moments, we hear this iconic line from Dr. Ian Malcolm who’s trying to get the baby T-Rex off their trailer before the parents come. But yeah, from this scene, I guess they’re too late.
Dennis meets the Dilophosaurus (Jurassic Park)
His character may be humorous, but the laughs quickly went away when Dennis faces the Dilophosaurus, who’s more than just an innocent-looking dinosaur.
“It’s a birdcage!” (Jurassic Park III)
Jurassic Park III probably is my least favorite in the series, but this scene with the Pteranodons is a standout, especially with how realistic they look like.
Rexy and Blue vs the Indominus Rex (Jurassic World)
People waited years for a big dinosaur battle and with the return of Jurassic World, they weren’t disappointed. This big battle in the finale of Jurassic World pits the Indominus Rex against the Raptor Blue and the all-time favorite T-Rex (which we will name Rexy).
Raptor Chase (Jurassic Park)
It may be an adventure film, but the scares are high with the first movie. I remembered screaming when this scene happened – and I still get scared when I see it.
“It’s a dinosaur!” (Jurassic Park)
This is the first time we saw a dinosaur in the film and it is definitely something to remember by. Even up to now, the special effects still hold up and roar still rocks my ears every time I hear it.
Meet the T-Rex (Jurassic Park)
Probably the highlight of the first movie is when the T-Rex was finally introduced. From the slow thumping of its footsteps to its signature roar, it’s a scene that nearly everyone will not forget.
Raptors in the Kitchen (Jurassic Park)
I loved this scene because aside from the masterful suspense (even if it’s just inside the kitchen) it awesomely blends computer-generated imagery along with practical effects, resulting in a very realistic effect – something few movies can’t do.
Do you have any scenes that you should be on the list? Give it a shoutout in the comments below. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens this Thursday in UAE cinemas.
