If you have just got your hands on a new Fitbit Versa, check out some of the following features that you may not know about

I have been using the Fitbit Versa for a couple of months, and I can tell you it is already one of my favourite smartwatches – the more time I spend with the device, the more features I discover. Of all the smartwatches I’ve used, the Versa is clearly one of the best. For the first time, it inspired me to live a healthier lifestyle, something that I have always failed to do in the past.

PurePulse – You already know that the Fitbit Versa has a heart rate monitor, but did you know that this sensor checks on your heartbeat the entire time you’re wearing it? It’s called ‘PurePulse heart rate tracking’ and it helps the Fitbit Versa accumulate data about your heart health. It can even recommend breathing exercises based on your current heart rate, and is always there to remind you to embrace a moment of calm.

Connect to Wi-Fi – The Fitbit Versa connects using Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) to sync your progress to the Fitbit Dashboard, but did you know that as an alternative, the Fitbit Versa can also connect to your Wi-Fi network so it can help you save time? Simply head to the settings menu to add your network and the Fitbit Versa will automatically connect to Wi-Fi.

Use a PC – Synching data with a Fitbit Versa usually requires a smartphone, but did you know that you can also do it using a computer? All you need to do is download the Fitbit Connect software available for Windows and Mac. Once installed, you can use your computer’s Bluetooth connection to sync your Fitbit Versa to your Fitbit Dashboard – it’s that easy!

Accessorise and customise – What I love about the Fitbit Versa is that I can use it all the time, working out or not. With the huge variety of available watch bands, I can choose from the classic designs for every day wear, the metal links to complement smart attire, or even my favourite – the Horween Leather bands that come in a variety of colours.

With more than 200 available clock faces for the Fitbit Versa, customising options range from ‘Weather’ if you want the most up-to-date weather conditions, or ‘Photographs’ that lets you use your own images as a clock face, or maybe even ‘Arrows’, my personal favourite which has a clock face that displays your daily fitness stats on the home screen of the Fitbit Versa.

More than waterproof – While we know that all Fitbit models are water resistant, you can swim or shower with the Fitbit Versa. This smartwatch can go to depths of up to 50 meters and is clever enough to detect when you’re going for a swim. It automatically calculates and records laps and even the calories you’ve burned while swimming. How awesome is that?

We’ve probably given you enough reasons why the Fitbit Versa is one of the best smartwatches available. The 899 AED recommended retail price also places it on the affordable list of health-related gadgets, making it a good choice if you’re as serious about your fitness goals as your bank balance.
