Huawei files a patent for a smartwatch that has ‘extra features’.

Huawei may not have a hit with its current smartwatch, the Huawei Watch 2, but that wouldn’t stop the company in developing more wearables. In fact, a recent patent filing somehow confirms that Huawei is working on a wearable (it could be a smartwatch or something similar) that will be able to store Bluetooth earbuds inside.

The patent explains further on how the earbuds will be stored: either in a small case or it could attach magnetically right on the watch band. Engadget reports that the earbuds are water-resistant and use a spring mechanism to release them from the magnet.

The image above (found by LetsGoDigital) shows how the earbuds would be stored.

Note however that despite Huawei being granted the patent it wouldn’t mean that it will be releasing the device. There’s a good chance that it might take a while before that happens and /if ever happens at all.
