We take a look at this awesome Blu-ray boxset before the awesome sequel opens in theaters.
Officially named ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One – Avengers Assembled’ – this Blu-ray boxset was on everyone’s wishlist back when it was made available in 2013. By this time, most collectors have already gotten their hands on the set, but for those who haven’t seen the goodies inside, let us give a brief walkthrough.
The set includes the first six films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger. Aside from the 2D and 3D version of the movies being included, a special Phase One Archives disc is also included on the set that includes various featurettes and deleted scenes from the Phase One movies.
Along with that, the set is placed in a special replica of the suitcase that holds the Tesseract featured in Marvel’s The Avengers. It also includes various S.H.I.E.L.D. file folders that contain props from all films. These range from magazine clippings, postcards and other pretty cool stuff. Check out a roundup of the awesome stuff you can find inside the case in the video above.
If you don’t own any of the movies yet, this may be a good time to pick up this set. Avengers: Age of Ultron racing into theaters in the next couple of months, and that would mean Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to draw to a close (for those not in the know, Phase Two consists of Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron).
I wonder what the Phase Two boxset will look like.
