40th edition of GITEX Technology Week opens today in Dubai

The annual tech event boasts strict health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Despite major exhibitions around the world being postponed and canceled, GITEX Technology Week officially opened its doors today as one of the first in-person exhibitions to be held since the pandemic started earlier this year.

GITEX Technology Week will be hosting more than 1,200 exhibitors from over 60 countries that include more than 300 startups. Additionally, the annual technology exhibition will also feature some of the world’s most innovative technological nations that include Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, France, Israel, Italy, Hong Kong, Japan, Nigeria, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Additionally, technology experts will be present at GITEX to share their vision of how technology can help power the future. Maverick hacker, inventor, and entrepreneur Pablos Holman and US Secret Service and FBI hacker Bryan Seely will be present, as well as influential comedian, legendary actor, writer, and comedian John Cleese.

Other technology shows are also running alongside GITEX Technology Week which includes GITEX Future Stars for startups, GISEC for cybersecurity, Future Blockchain Summit, and the first edition of Marketing Mania made for brand marketers.

GITEX Technology Week will also enforce strict guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes regular sanitation of public areas, contactless temperature screenings at different entry points, real-time crowd monitoring, and different ambassadors reminding people to maintain distance and keeps masks worn at all times.

GITEX Technology Week will run until Thursday, December 10th, 2020 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. There will be on on-site registration, and you must register online and print your badge before heading to the venue.
