A new venue to showcase new games and hardware.

Microsoft in a statement said that it will be trying something new at E3 2018 this year. While Microsoft has always presented at E3 since 2000, this year it is expanding that experience and moving all Xbox announcements will now happen at the Microsoft Theater, which is just across the street from the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) where E3 is being held.

Microsoft also said that the new venue will now be the home of all future Xbox briefings starting with the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing on June 10th. 2018. A mix of Xbox FanFest activities, hands-on gameplay along with demos for upcoming Xbox games will be available for all attendees.

Microsoft will still have a booth at E3, but it will now be dedicated to Mixer. This will let fans play, stream and interact with games along with catching all the latest news from E3 during the week of the show.

“These changes – expanding our presence, multiple venues, taking over the Microsoft Theater – give us the opportunity to bring together a variety of Xbox experiences into one primary location and, most importantly, let fans in on what we’re up to in 2018 and beyond in a fresh new way,” Microsoft said in a blog post.
