This is looking to be another major hit for Disney.
Frozen II is arriving in cinemas this week and in case you haven’t noticed, this is the sequel nearly everyone is waiting for – even the adults. Frozen II continues the story of sisters Elsa and Anna where they leave their kingdom in search of the origins of Elsa’s powers. The first movie earned more than a billion dollars in the box office, and the song ‘Let It Go’ became such an iconic song that kids and adults already know the song by heart (whether they like it or not).
Frozen II is aiming to deliver the same spectacle as the first movie, promising larger set pieces, humor and of course, new songs. Brush up on these facts about Frozen II before buying your ticket:
Frozen II will be Walt Disney’s 61st animated movie, not to be confused with Pixar’s own theatrical releases (even if they’re also owned by Disney).
Elsa always had footwear in the first movie so the animators didn’t bother making her toes. For Frozen II, she has scenes where she was barefoot, which required the animators to designed a set of toes for the character model.
When the first trailer debuted earlier this year, it managed to draw in more than 116 million views in the first 24 hours – the most for any animated movie trailer.
Frozen II will be the last film John Lasseter is involved in after the announcement of his departure at Disney Animation Studios.
Teasers for Frozen II have appeared in Zootopia, which was released in 2016.
Disney’s Frozen II opens in UAE cinemas this Thursday, November 21.
