Game On: Here’s what we know about The Witcher 3 on the Nintendo Switch
June 16, 2019

One of the best games ever is arriving on the Nintendo console.

Nintendo pretty much gave the fans everything they want during the company’s E3 2019 keynote last week. But one of the big surprises came from CD Projekt Red, who has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be making its way to the Switch sometime this year. The game is arriving on the Switch with all previously-released DLCs so expect the same experience that you’ll get from the PC and console versions to arrive on the Switch – well, sort of.

Despite the awesomeness provided by the Nintendo Switch, it’s hardware isn’t really the best when compared to other current generation consoles. We’ve seen developers do workarounds to have their games work on the Switch such as Fornite (which is actually an upgraded version of the mobile game) or other games that will have reduced visual fidelity.

The same will be applied to The Witcher 3 on the Nintendo Switch – most of the visual designs are lessened to accommodate the console’s specifications, and CD Projekt Red confirmed that the game will run at a 540p resolution on the Switch screen and 720p when docked. You might have some doubts about the visual downgrade, but just like other games, it’s barely noticeable when you’re already playing.

Nintendo also said that The Witcher 3 game along with all its DLCs and story expansions that include Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine will all come in one 32 GB Switch cartridge. No release date has been set, but it is known that it should arrive before the year ends.

Will you be getting The Witcher 3 when it arrives on the Nintendo Switch despite the graphics downgrade? Let us know your thoughts in the comment
