How To: Search for missing AirPods using Find my iPhone
March 28, 2017

Lost your AirPods? There is a way to look for them.

Apple dropped iOS 10.3 last night (or this morning, depending on where you are), and one of the new features included a way for you look for your AirPods just in case you misplace them (they’re small so we’re sure that’s bound to happen sometime in the future).

Using the Find My iPhone app, you can easily locate your AirPods by accessing the app. Here is how you do it:

1. Open the ‘Find My iPhone’ app. It’s preinstalled on modern iPhones and if it asks for a login, simply enter your Apple ID credentials.

2. A list of all devices using your Apple ID will be shown. Look for your AirPods.

3. Once you tap it, it will show an area on where your AirPods were last located.

4. Depending if it’s connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, you have the option to play a sound to easily locate the AirPods by pressing the Actions menu.

It’s a simple trick, but it does give extra convenience just in case the inevitable happens.
