A fully capable smartphone that seamlessly blends form and function.
OPPO’s Reno4 series has proven that premium doesn’t always have to cost a lot. Especially with the OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G, it manages to blend form and function in a device that easily makes it one of our favorites. Along with its two other variants, the OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G brings the best of the company’s technologies in a device that’s easy on the pocket.
A patented new technology called Reno Glow highlights the OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G’s design. This technique combines the matte and glitter materials that result in this unique gradient color. What’s more, the matte finish eliminates fingerprints, letting you enjoy the design more without the worry of any smudges.
OPPO clearly focused on the design, since you’ll feel how premium the device is the moment you pick it up. Physical buttons are located on either side that includes the power button and volume rockers. There’s also the dual SIM tray located at the bottom that sits next to the USB-C port.
Featuring an all-screen design that curves on the side, the OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G’s display is one of the best that we have seen. It’s a fantastic 6.5-inch display that’s both big and bright that also supports HDR10+, sp expect brilliant colors that are complemented by bright whites and super deep blacks. It even supports a 90Hz refresh for smoother and more fluid browsing.
The OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G also boasts great hardware that manages to handle all tasks with ease, this includes the Snapdragon 765G CPU, along with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The midrange processor easily breezed through apps and games without any problem, making it capable of handling any task that you put on it. And of course, there’s 5G, letting you take advantage of superfast speeds perfect for downloading files and streaming high-resolution content.
Aside from the hardware, the software is also one of the best aspects of the OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G. It runs on ColorOS 7.2 that is based on Android 10 and offers a plethora of customizations to personalize your smartphone. ColorOS also includes OPPO Lab which is a place where you can try out experimental features and even vote for them to be included in future updates.
The best part of the OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G is probably the camera. You’re getting a Triple Laser Detection Auto Focus camera that includes the main 48-megapixel camera, 12-megapixel ultra-night-wide-angle video lens, and the 13-megapixel telephoto lens. This camera system supports a 5x hybrid optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom – combine that with Live HDR and you’re getting the best shots in the day time or low light.
But more than just taking shots, the OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G also works great as a video camera. The combination of the main 48-megapixel camera and the ultra-wide-angle camera lets you utilize higher ISO levels so your videos are always bright, even when everything around you isn’t.
OPPO’s own Ultra Night Video Algorithm also boosts brightness on dark videos without losing any of the color vibrancy and clarity. This allows you to show ultra-wide-angle videos at night in accurate detail.
The OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G’s camera also includes a new Cinematic Mode that allows you to shoot in a wide 21:9 aspect ratio. You can play around with extra tools to enhance your shots, and even edit them with the built-in Soloop app that also lets you sync the beats of the music tracks you’ve chosen.
The 4,000 mAh battery should be enough for a day’s worth of usage. But in case you need to juice up your battery, SuperVOOC 2.0 65 watts flash charging technology is able to recharge the OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G from 0 to 100 percent capacity in just 36 minutes. It’s completely safe too since SuperVOOC uses five layers of protection where each node of the charging cable, battery, and smartphone has its own chipset that monitors the voltage.
Available for 2,499 AED, the OPPO Reno4 Pro 5G is an impressive midrange smartphone that feels and performs at par and at times better than the competition. It’s got amazing cameras, a gorgeous design, 5G support, and superfast charging support – what more could you ask for?
