Previewed before its debut at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the McLaren P1 GTR design concept is one for the tracks with a speed-enveloped façade.
Seeing as how customers of the road legal McLaren P1 have constantly placed requests to get the track version of the supercar, McLaren listened well. This car was not only requested to by buyers of the regular P1, they also meant for it to be part of a fully-loaded program that’s to include driving and training events along with services like vehicle support.
The P1 GTR is expected to enter production in June of next year right after the brand completes its 375th vehicle, which will mark the last example of the road model.
The award-winning vehicle has led the way for the design of the new McLaren P1 GTR, which comes after about 50 years of the company’s motorsport knowledge.
Those who are to be part of the program will be able to access the different technologies and resources utilized for the training for F1 champs; not a bad catch at all.
The preview will take place at the McLaren Brand Center at the Pebble Beach Lodge on August 16 and the vehicle will also make a public debut during that weekend.
