The top Xbox Series X/S accessories you can buy right now

February 7, 2021

Accessorize your next-gen gaming console.

Just like the PlayStation 5, it looks like Microsoft’s latest console is mostly sold out in retailers. But here in the UAE, it looks like there is still enough stock of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in stores, which makes it easier to upgrade to Microsoft’s next-gen console.

If you’re lucky enough to snag an Xbox Series X/S over the holiday, chances are now enjoying the plethora of previous and current generation games that you can play from your own library and from Microsoft’s own Game Pass subscription.

Once you get the console, the next part is getting the accessories. Considering that the Xbox Series X/S is still new, there won’t be a lot of accessories available for it – but here are some of our favorites:

Rechargeable Battery and USB-C charging cable – The Xbox Series X/S controller surprisingly still uses AA batteries by default, so it’s best that you invest in a rechargeable battery so you don’t have to keep buying new ones every single time it runs out. Microsoft’s new rechargeable battery for the Xbox Series X/S controller also includes a USB-C cable so you can simply plug it in while you’re playing.

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller 2 – It’s a little expensive, but this upgraded and customizable controller features the same adjustable-tension thumbsticks as well as trigger locks for improved gameplay. There are even interchangeable thumbsticks and paddle shapes along with the ability to save 3 custom profiles and are even compatible not just with the Xbox Series X/S, but also with Xbox One and Windows 10 devices.

Seagate Storage Expansion Card – If the internal 1TB drive isn’t enough for you, then you may need to purchase this 1TB Seagate Storage Expansion Card that goes into a dedicated slot at the rear of the console. This drive was specially made for the Xbox Series X, which matches the speed of the internal SSD used in the console so you can expect the same speedy loading times and performance.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – This subscription combines the benefits of Xbox Live Gold (which enables online play and free games each month) and Xbox Game Pass, dubbed as the Netflix for games that give you access to more than 100 high-quality titles that you can download straight to your console. The best part is that having this subscription will also give you access to first-party titles that also get released on the service, so there’s no need for separate purchase.

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro – While this is primarily made for PCs, Razer’s latest and greatest gaming headset also works on consoles including the Xbox Series X/S. It even includes a microphone so you can easily chat with friends while playing co-op titles.

Do you have other Xbox Series X/S accessories that should be on the list? Let us know in the comments!
