Top 5 Things to See at GITEX
October 9, 2017

One of the biggest technology exhibitions in the world.

GITEX Technology Week has officially opened its doors and is now showcasing the best of what technology has to offer. This year’s show has a plethora of various gadgets, services and innovations for you to check out. But here are five of the best things we’ve seen so far:

Robocop (Dubai Police stand) – You’ve seen it being teased on previous events, but the Dubai Police’s version of Robocop is as impressive in real life as it is on screen. It was initially made to offer tourists various information that they may need around the city, and pretty you’ll see this guy monitoring the streets of Dubai.

Mercedez-Benz F 015 (Etisalat stand) – A prototype of the future mode of transport can be viewed at Etisalat’s stand. This autonomous research car is loaded with sensors so you know what’s happening outside and inside whether you’re driving or you’re parked.

Samsung 360 Gyro VR (Etisalat stand) – You’ve seen 4D and VR, but you’ve never seen VR in this form. Head on to the Etisalat stand and you’ll get to experience a ride that spins and tumbles in every direction. Be careful though, it’s not for the faint of heart!

Insta360 Pro – Want to see the $3500 camera that Google recently certified as Street View worthy? Check out Insta360’s stand at Hall 8 and check out one of the most awesome 360 cameras on the market.

Volocopter (RTA stand) – Want to see Dubai’s flying taxis? Then head on to the RTA stand and see the actual vehicle that will be used as part of RTA’s flying taxi fleet. Seeing Volocopter (that’s the name of the company that built the vehicle) in pictures is one thing, but in real life, it’ll leave your mouth wide open.

GITEX Technology Week runs until this Thursday at the Dubai World Trade Center.
