Top Things We Love About the Xiaomi Mi 9
February 25, 2019

Xiaomi’s latest and greatest smartphone has just been revealed.

Just this morning, Xiaomi also had its own keynote detailing the release of the Mi 9, its newest flagship device. While some may criticize the company for ripping off designs and features on other flagships, Xiaomi stayed competitive by selling all these premium devices at almost less than half of what Apple and Samsung offer.

With the announcement of the Mi 9 (which has already leaked in various forms last week), here are the top things that we love about Xiaomi’s latest smartphone:

The Price – The Mi 9 was quoted to cost less than $600 – way lesser than other smartphones that cost upwards of $1000. This easily already gets check marks for consumers on a budget.

The Specifications – Snapdragon 855, 6 GB RAM, 64 GB/128 GB of storage. What more can you ask for?

The Camera – The Mi 9 will have a three-lens camera that includes a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor and lastly a Sony-based 48-megapixel sensor. It already gained praise for its imaging capabilities, so we’re sure you’re going to love the Mi 9’s camera.

The Charging – Aside from the wired charging offered by Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ where you can get your battery up to 70 percent in just half an hour, the Mi 9 also supports up to 20 W wireless charging. This means that you can completely charge the Mi 9 from 0 to 100 percent in just 90 minutes!

The Extra – We know this list is for the Mi 9, but it is still worth mentioning Xiaomi’s other smartphone launch, the Mi Mix 3 5G. It’s basically the same Mi Mix 3 that was launched a few months before, but with improved specifications that would let it support 5G. This includes the new X50 5G modem and the Snapdragon 855 processor. It even introduces a new hybrid cooling system that would prevent it from overheating.

The release date for the devices here in the Middle East is currently unknown, but given the strong presence of the brand here, it wouldn’t be long before it becomes available.
