A darker tone for the web interface.
Just last March, Facebook announced that it is rolling out its redesigned desktop interface with Dark Mode as an optional preview that you can enable. Now the company has announced that this interface has fully rolled out to everyone.
I have to admit though – it took a little getting used to when using the new interface, especially when you are used to the old interface’s navigation. Still, the new look is cleaner and best of all, now includes a Dark Mode option that makes it easier to browse especially at night.
If you still don’t have access to the new interface, follow these steps to enable it:
When logged in to your Facebook account on a desktop browser, look for the drop-down arrow on the far right side of the window and click it.
Once the drop-down menu appears, click the link that says ‘Switch to New Facebook’.
You’ll immediately be taken to the new interface with most of the navigation buttons placed on top along with a larger emphasis on images.
To enable Dark Mode, head to the same arrow on the far right side, click it and a drop menu will appear where you can enable Dark Mode.
Facebook is looking to permanently move to this new interface soon, but you can still switch back to the classic design if you want to (using the same menu option).
Do you like Facebook’s new interface and Dark Mode? Hopefully, they’ll do the same with the mobile app, since those are the ones being used more often to access the website. Share your thoughts in the comments below!
